About Your Host
Marie-Josée Albert is Executive Chef at Le Panaché Resto-Pub-Terrasse and loves sharing her passion for cooking with others. She has played a key role in promoting Acadian regional products at the Festival acadien de Caraquet (one of the most popular Acadian cultural festivals in North America) for several years, and has assisted major Chefs and restauranteurs at a regional, provincial, and national level. The kitchen is her happy place, and her expert advice combined with her upbeat personality, warm smile, and Acadian accent make for a one-of-a-kind cooking and dining experience.
What We’ll Do
The star of the show is Arctic Char, a cold-water fish from the salmon family, sourced from a local supplier in Bas-Caraquet. We’ll explore basic cooking techniques that can be applied to cooking any fish from head to tail – knowledge you can take home with you for future culinary adventures. We’ll also use seasonal vegetables and ingredients from local farms, and products from Fils du Roy distillery and other local suppliers. We’ll end the evening with a traditional dessert reinvented to impress. This experience is all about regional flavour and fun.
What We’ll Provide
- An original cocktail to welcome you
- All ingredients and cooking equipment
- A three-course meal
- Two glasses of accompanying wine selected by our sommelier
- Tea or coffee
- All recipes we prepare
- Transportation to and from your accommodations (within a 25-km radius)
Where We’ll Be
Located on the Acadian Peninsula, the small and inviting coastal town of Caraquet is a stunning spot to experience Acadian and Maritime charm, vibrant cultural and artistic life, and tasty regional cuisine. We’ll be cooking and dining at Le Panaché Resto-Pub-Terrasse, located on the seaside, close to the port facilities of the Caraquet wharf.
